Homecrest combines its history of quality and design with today's demand for affordable luxury and versatile living. Homecrest's focus has broadened to include the consumers’ need to complement their home’s interior designs while creating an effortless flow between indoors and outdoors.
Homecrest began as an offshoot of a retail furniture shop in Wadena, Minnesota in 1953, when founders Mert Bottemiller and Al Engelemann wanted to construct a better ottoman than their vendors were able to supply. Soon their business expanded into manufacturing with a growing line of outdoor furniture including: self-adjusting chaise, swivel rocker recliner and chaise, gliders, padded slings, aluminum mesh, and the ever popular Comfort Recliner.
Industry Firsts:
The original Swivel Rocker mechanism, patented by Homecrest in 1956, was at the foundation of the Homecrest outdoor product line. Additionally, Homecrest was the first outdoor furniture manufacturer to use Sunbrella fabrics on outdoor furniture.
